Builders To Hold Annual Meeting, Elect Officers, & Award Scholarships

The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania will hold its 42nd Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 4 p.m. at the Youngstown Club, Fifth Floor, 201 E. Commerce Street, Youngstown, Ohio. Highlights of the meeting include:

•   A series of reports regarding The Builders’ 2011 activities, such as labor relations, contract negotiations,finances, apprenticeship, the 2011 construction volume and the Construction Advancement Program. Speakers will be:
A.   Executive Vice President – Kevin Reilly, Executive Vice President The Builders
B.    Treasurer – Brian Downie, Alex Downie & Sons Company
C.    Labor Relations – John Watkins, Labor Relations Director of The Builders
D.   Apprenticeship – Dan Fry, Assistant Labor Relations Director of The Builders
E.    Construction Advancement Program – Cliff Morgan, Thompson Mechanical, Inc.

•   Awarding of the annual scholarships - Paul Johnson of  Adolph Johnson & Son Company will name the recipients of scholarships to four Youngstown State University students as part of The Builder’s annual scholarship program for Civil & Construction Engineering Technology students at the school.
•   Introduction of officers and executive committee members for 2012 will be made. Mr. Joseph K. DeSalvo, Executive Vice President President of DeSalvo Construction Company ( based in Hubbard, Ohio, is nominated as the incoming president, and is scheduled to speak.

•   General discussion and Q&A session
