Four YSU Students Awarded Scholarships from The Builders

For 44 years, the Builders Association has awarded more than $160,000 in scholarships to collegiate men and women studying to become a construction professional in our region.

The Builders continued that tradition this year by awarding $2,000 scholarships to four Youngstown State University students, all of whom are enrolled in YSU’s Civil and Construction Engineering Technology Program. The 2015 scholarship recipients are:

Matthew Wright, a sophomore from Youngstown, Ohio

Gage Michael, a junior from Union City, PA

Danny Marker, a junior from Howland, OH

Ethan McGarvey, a senior from Chicora, PA

The students were awarded their scholarships at The Builders’ annual meeting on Dec. 2. A special Scholarship Committee consisting of Chairman Paul Johnson, President of Adolph Johnson & Son; Howard Agueda of VEC, Inc.; and Jim Santini of Jim Santini Builder, Inc. reviewed applications and recommended this year’s honorees.

The Builders has already allocated money in their 2016 budget to fund this program again next year.
