Northeast Ohio Safety Conference & Expo Set for October 16

Expo emphasizes safe workplaces, helping NE Ohio employers control workers’ comp costs

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) Northeast Safety Conference and Expo in Ashtabula on Oct. 16 will offer area employers an opportunity to learn about improving the safety and health their workforce.

BWC’s Youngstown Service Office is partnering with the Ashtabula County Safety Council, Jefferson Area Local School District and the Ashtabula County Technical and Career Campus (A-Tech) to sponsor the event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Jefferson Area High School, 207 W Mulberry St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047.

The conference will feature 38 sessions that focus on improving the safety, well-being and quality of life of workers, which can help employers keep their workers’ comp premiums as low as possible. Attendees can also visit the expo floor to connect with safety service providers, safety equipment suppliers and area health-care providers.

Employers can earn credit for BWC programs for attending certain classes.
