Safety Conference & Expo
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) is among the sponsors of an upcoming safety event designed to help employers conduct business more safely, while complying with Ohio laws. The Columbiana County Safety Conference & Expo will take place Oct. 23 in Lisbon. The event is open to employers from across Ohio and will feature a wide range of educational topics, including H1N1 prevention and control methods.,
Other education opportunities include: fundamentals of an Effective Safety & Health Program, Controlling Workers’ Compensation Costs through Claims Management, Safety Related Work Practices including Machine Guarding & Fall Protection, and information about the services offered by BWC and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A number of courses will enable employers to meet requirements of BWC’s 10-step business plan. Group rated employers will find many courses to assist them in acquiring their two hours of training required as part of Rule 4123-17-68.
In addition, the expo will feature the products and services of a wide variety of exhibitors and vendors including safety service providers, safety equipment suppliers and area health care providers. Event sponsors include: Salem, Columbiana and East Liverpool Area Safety Councils, Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, Ohio EPA, and Ohio BWC.

FEE: There is a $25 workshop fee for attendees which covers the cost of course materials, a continental breakfast and lunch.
