Seminar on Tips for Optimizing Structural Masonry Planned
Area architects, engineers and members of the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western PA are invited to a seminar to learn about tips for optimizing structural masonry.
Tom Nagy, director of the Ohio/Western PA International Masonry Institute (IMI) will be the guest speaker at the lunch-and-learn event, held March 20, 2012 at the Avalon Country Club at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Ohio. Nagy will present the inter-relationship in masonry buildings between materials, architecture, engineering and construction. He will also discuss the ways to use existing materials more effectively, explanations of the effect of one selection over another, new materials and current code and specification provisions.
The event runs from Noon to 1:30 p.m. It is sponsored by The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western PA, and the IMI. Those attending who need AIA credits can capture one HSW/SD learning unit, which will be reported directly to the AIA on the participant's behalf by the IMI.
