The Builders Awards Five Scholarships to YSU Construction Students
Five underclassmen from Youngstown State University are the 2010 recipients of the annual Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania (The Builders) scholarship program.
The Builders selects YSU students each year who demonstrate that they are excelling in the school’s Civil & Construction Engineering Technology program. About 30 students applied for scholarships this year. To date, The Builders has awarded $116,210, including the $2,000 given to each of this year’s recipients.
Students awarded the scholarships for 2010 are:
Brett Cash, a freshman from Columbiana, Ohio
Mark Cramer, a freshman from Girard, Ohio
Randy Campana, a freshman from Youngstown, Ohio
Steven Opperman, a sophomore from EnonValley, PA
Zachary Barkley, a sophomore from Salem, Ohio
“This is the 39th consecutive year that we’ve offered this scholarship program,” said Kevin Reilly, Executive Vice President of The Builders. “We believe that it’s vital to support the training and development of this region’s future construction industry leaders.”
The students were honored at The Builders’ 41st Annual Meeting, held recently at the Youngstown Club.
