The Builders Participate in Healthcare Construction Workshop

The Builders Association, in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently hosted an education program titled “Infection Control Risk Assessment Best Practices in Healthcare Construction.” The lunch program brought close to 60 industry professionals together to discuss the current state of healthcare construction in occupied facilities.

Industry experts, Tony DiTommasso and Trampas Puckett, from the Indiana-Kentucky-Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters, discussed the following key objectives:

  • How effective infection control programs are comprehensive and require broad institutional commitment
  • Using infection control risk assessment to determine the type of work classification for a construction project
  • Emphasize the importance of workforce training
  • Identify the means and methods to ensure compliance with the infection control risk assessment precautions
