Builders Association Awards Five Scholarships to YSU Students
Since 1971, the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania has awarded $181,210 in scholarships to collegiate men and women studying to become construction professionals in our region.

The Builders continued that tradition in 2018 by awarding five more scholarships to Youngstown State University students, all of whom are studying Civil and Construction Engineering Technology: Freshman Keshawn Jones, Sophomore Joe Kolesar, Junior Collin Pope, Junior Kara Weeks, and Senior Haleigh Combs.

The students were awarded their scholarships at The Builders’ annual meeting on Dec. 5. A special Scholarship Committee consisting of Chairman Paul Johnson of Adolph Johnson & Son; Sam Boak of Boak & Sons, and Jeff Donatelli of Donatelli Electric reviewed applications and recommended this year’s honorees.

The Builders Association has already allocated money in their 2019 budget to fund this program again next year.

Congratulations to these well-deserving students!
