Mahoning Valley’s Roofers Joint Apprenticeship Program is accepting applications for roofing apprentices. Wages start at $12.22 (plus $2.90 in benefits) per hour for first year apprentices. Those numbers grow with each year of training. Upon completion of the 5-year apprenticeship program, the current pay rate for journeymen roofers is $24.44 per hour with an additional $15.82 in benefits (i.e. Pension & Medical).

To be considered for this class, applications must be received no later than Friday, October 30, 2015.

Applicants must include a transcript of high school grades or GED test scores, military service Certificate of Completion (DD-214) (if applicable), and a valid driver’s license.

Basic qualifications for applicants include being at least 18 years old, having a high school (or equivalent) diploma, being physically capable of performing work of the trade, and being able to pass a pre-employment drug screen & physical. An aptitude test will be administered at the time the application is submitted.
