The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western PA announces a change to its Labor Relations Department. John Watkins, who served as Labor Relations Director for 12 years, retired at the end of 2014.
“John was involved in numerous programs and initiatives, and has done a great job for the Association and the regional construction industry. He will be missed,” said Kevin Reilly, Executive Vice President of The Builders.
A native of Monaca, PA and current resident of Boardman, Watkins spent the final 12 years of his career with The Builders, coming to the regional construction industry after 32 years in the steel industry. He excelled most in human resources and continued those same functions with The Builders, focusing on negotiations, labor relations, personnel and recruitment. He also played a key role in refining office operations to increase member customer service.
Current Assistant Labor Relations Director, Dan Fry, who worked closely with Watkins for the past five years, has been promoted to Director. Fry holds a degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and brings to the position a background in association programming, construction business management, and labor relations.
