Joe Dickey Electric Inc. launched in 1957 out of the basement of Joseph Dickey’s home. The first big job came in the late 1950s, when the company was hired to repair the Fithian warehouse at Market Street and Wildwood Drive in Boardman, after a fire.

“That project seemed to set us on our way,” Dickey says. “We have shown consistent growth since then.”

The Hively Construction Company began in 1986 by Lee R. Hively, Jr. The family-run business includes two generations of Hively’s, and has grown its employee base from 2 to about 100. “Honesty and integrity is key to our business, Hively says.

“It is my promise and intention to provide the finest quality work conceivable in the most expedient manner possible.”

The Torch Award is the most prestigious award the BBB can present to a business. Being a recipient indicates that the business not only believes in the high standards promoted by the BBB, but also consistently acts on them and continuously integrates them into daily practices.
