The Builders Association congratulates Diamond Steel Construction Company on its 90th anniversary as an active member of the region’s construction community.

The company was launched in downtown Youngstown in 1928 by Clarence Smith, Sr.. It is led today by company president Dave Collins, himself a legacy of the company’s origin. The company and its interesting history was recently highlighted by the Youngstown Business Journal.

“Diamond Steel has skilled, qualified people with the right attitude and equipment to complete a job properly,” said Builders Executive Vice-President Kevin Reilly. “It’s a great formula for success, as they have illustrated for 90 productive years. We congratulate them on their milestone achievement.”

Diamond crews are experienced in erecting structural steel, assisting with building or plant repairs, erecting overhead cranes and handling concrete reinforcement assignments. The company is a signatory to various union labor national maintenance agreements, including the Ironworkers, Operating Engineers, Teamsters, Boilermakers and Millwrights.

Work is primarily done in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in Ohio, but Diamond Steel also works in Western PA, Northern West Virginia, Cleveland, Toledo, and Southern Michigan.
